Project Summary

Phase II Environmental Assessment
Industrial Facility
Louisville, Kentucky
2016

GEM sampled and conducted analytical testing of soils and groundwater at a major industrial facility in a historically industrialized section of Louisville. The purpose of the sampling and testing was to identify potential contaminants that could be associated with prior releases from both on-site and off-site activities including an adjacent railroad and a nearby fuel storage facility. This information was used to assess risk when negotiating acquisition of easements, purchase of adjoining properties, and as background data for consideration should future environmental concerns develop. The levels of chemicals detected during testing indicated the absence of contamination exceeding background levels and no additional evaluation or remediation was indicated.
